Keep Learning...

I have been learning, yes I am OLDish, but one thing I can tell you is KEEP LEARNING!
Learn something new every single day, I do, and if I can most people can to some extent. Just because you may be suffering in silence almost every day from something like Fibromyalgia does not mean you can't learn some ways to overcome the pain.
I've learned Self-Hypnosis and let me tell you that it took no time at all to get the hang of it!
Now, when the pain is still there after my allotted pills have been ingested, I can sit back and relax and let the pain slowly slip away. You may not know how good this can feel if you've never had to put up with some debilitating illness.
I can compare it to sliding into a warm pool on a cool night or finding that for the last 10 minutes you have been "OUT-THERE" concentrating on some thought (daydreaming) so much you get rudely awakened to hear "...are you listening to me?"
It is no more than that really, some people have made it seem like you have no control over your own mind but that couldn't be further from the truth. You cannot lose your control of your mind while doing this, because you have to concentrate on what you aim to do (reduce pain!).

Waking moments
My waking moments decide for me weather or not I will have a good day or not, if for instance, when I wake-up and cannot move anything more than my eyelids without great pain, this will more than likely be an unproductive day. This is how I wake-up most days throughout the winter months, like my body has gone prematurely into rigormortice!!
On the other hand, I am extremely grateful for those days when I wake-up and can move everything, go and put the kettle on and have a wash and start my day without having to question why my body has to be riddled with pain, especially when I try and be a 'nice' person and not bother anyone like so many seemingly NORMAL people tend to do!
I spend so much time in search of natural(ish) ways to get away from this daily regime of waking-up, forcing movement, popping all the pills, maybe staying awake, waiting for the pills to kick in and then starting my day! By the time all of this has taken place, it can be midday, no wonder I don't work for an employer anymore!!
I guess I'll have to keep searchin'.

Your Pain
I have started this to let you know all I can about Fibromyalgia and how it affects all of us, not just you or me, but anyone, all we need to do is compare notes and maybe we can come up with a better solution to the PROBLEM!!
OK I'll Start;
Every day for the past five years I have woken-up in pain; That's when I could go to sleep!
See how easy that was? Quick Too !
